The Case of Quong Wing Revisited
Regina, Saskatchewan
1919
Remember Quong-Wing? He's the Asian-Canadian
who broke the law by hiring two Caucasian women to work in his restaurant.
It turns out his stand wasn't entirely in vain. The Saskatchewan law
that caused all the trouble - c. 17 SS. 1912 - is amended to delete reference
to "Chinese".
The Chinese government lobbied the Saskatchewan government to make the
change.
