On May 15, 2006, Bell Canada and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) announced a tentative settlement of a pay equity dispute involving telephone operators. The agreement is subject to ratification by union members.

The Canadian Human Rights Commission recognizes the hard work and good faith efforts of both parties and congratulates them on reaching this point in the mediation process.
