
Innovative initiatives promoting human rights are undertaken every day in workplaces across Canada. In an effort to promote them to a wide variety of people and organizations, we have developed a section on initiatives from members of the Employer Advisory Council (EAC). The purpose of the EAC is to provide a forum for raising, examining, discussing and acting on issues related to the prevention of discrimination in workplaces and service centres across Canada.
The Aboriginal Education Incentive Award (AEIA) celebrates the hard work and determination of Aboriginal people who have overcome personal, economic or social adversity in their pursuit of learning. If you have committed to furthering your education and have completed a year in an educational program, you may qualify.
The submission deadline is July 31st, 2009.
Alternative work arrangements

The reader will find information on different types of alternative work arrangements such as flexible hours of work, leave options, and a template related to alternative work arrangements.

Over the last several years CP has worked in collaboration with the joint company/union Employment Equity Committees to raise awareness and inform employees of the internal resources which they can access should they encounter disrespectful or discriminatory behaviour.
