December 10 is International Human Rights Day.

To mark this important occasion, we can celebrate the many victories in the struggle for equality around the world since the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1947. However, as the following web pages indicate, we should also note that there is still much to do before all the world’s population enjoys “universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms”.
